Character

Name: Rin Kagamine
Source: Vocaloid (AU - game import: Mayfield)
Type: Player
Canon Point: During the ending of Mayfield, taken from the second when Lithuania pushes the button.
History: Vocaloid Wiki - details the history of Rin and Len in the real world. As a character, this operates under the premise that these events occurred around an actual, sentient, robotic singer who is an anthropomorphism of the software and its fandom. Whom this Rin is a copy of. Just go with it, okay.
Mayfield history & CR

Personality:

As is the case with all Vocaloids, the original personality for Rin was created by her fandom - an energetic and adventurous girl, to contrast a more sensible twin brother in Len. She is proud and selfish, as well as jealous and insecure. Her greatest loves in life include oranges, Len, and crushing her enemies (and sometimes minor annoyances) beneath the wheel of her roadroller. That's Rin 101, the fundamentals.

Of course, there's much more depth to her than that, especially since she is actually not that Rin to begin with - she's a data copy, created from the Rin I just described, in order to populate a simulation known as Mayfield. This means that, with the exception of the information provided to her from the start, this Rin operates independent of her fandom - her personality and character development are all a result of her time spent in the simulation, rather than by some memetic group consensus. But this is a topic that's too meta to stay on for long. Let's continue.

One of the things that's different about Mayfield Rin opposed to her original is her courage. Rin's always been brave in a mischievous child sense. However, like a child, her initial instinct when things got serious was to rely on either Len or an adult to smooth things over for her. After enduring enough horrors in Mayfield, that instinct changed. She is now not only willing to risk her life for a cause, but it's her second nature. If something is seriously wrong, she gets nosy, and if she thinks it's needed, she will fight. This can even be to a fault, as she's thrown herself at some hopeless situations in the past and ended up taking some punishment for it. However, she's not so far gone that she won't accept help - in fact she's generally been able to be reckless with enough superpowered friends to have her back.

Of course, she's still not much of a physical fighter, so she tends to stick to investigating and spreading information. In Mayfield, she even edited an underground newspaper for a time, its intent to do just that - though admittedly, she got instantly bored of it and was an extremely lazy editor. Plus, she'd never really intended to be responsible about it to begin with; she mostly snagged up the role to ensure her good name stayed out of the gossip columns, though maybe Miku's could stay in if there was good enough dirt, you know, just for business's sake... Perhaps I should mention that Rin's still pretty irresponsible and selfish.

Speaking of which, she's also very competitive. A big part of the original Rin's motivations was the goal of dethroning Miku of her spot as the number 1 Vocaloid and standing in the Vocaloid rankings. However, in Mayfield, Rin and Miku would gauge their popularity based on their results in school events like Prom and Homecoming. Who got nominated, and who got the most votes. Rin consistently came out on top of these little personal contests, even winning the actual crown the last time. Additionally, she had better support for her concerts thanks to the people she knew. Top of the line music equipment, holograms and private TV stations were available to Rin, while Miku was in a garage band. This essentially created a role reversal between the two of them, where Rin got a taste of what it's like being the favorite Vocaloid. I won't say that this made her less competitive though - she never missed an opportunity to widen the gap between them popularity-wise. As far as she was concerned, she worked hard and deserved it, and earned the right to gloat about it as well. Rin is never sorry for having success, and would react to haters by dismissing their opinions. She can be pretty stubborn.

One might think that knowledge of another Rin out there maintaining her image may tempt her to find a new direction for herself besides popularity. This is not so, if only because she just gets very lonely if there's nobody around. Even though she technically only knew her Len for a short while, she is always thinking of him, and her separation issues will only be worse when she loses most of who she knew in Mayfield as well. So, she's going to try to fill that space by making herself liked and well-known again, even if she has to Stepford smile to do so. It goes without saying that Rin and Len were very close, but this is also literal. With him she had a very physical relationship, holding hands, sharing a bed, chasing him with the roadroller... My point is, although she keeps her socially-acceptable modest distance with acquaintances, her bond with Len influences the rest of her relationships, and one could surmise their relationship status with her by how physical she is with them. Of course, it's not something most people could fathom, as she works in tsundere strange ways. For example, roadroller violence would not necessarily be a bad spot to be in. Unless you've got some kind of problem with being flattened to death, I guess. (In all seriousness, there are very few cross-canon people that she'd smush though. You have to be on the level of masochism required to be able to accept this form of affection. It's pretty much reserved for dumb brothers only.)

Abilities: Although she has memories from when she was a robot, she is actually a human... or well, a humanized data clone as of the endgame. And so, she will be coming in with no abilities at all, except for being a great singer and musician.

Entry Fee: All of her songs! In the case of her bigger ones like Daughter of Evil and Kokoro, she may still remember what they're about (because they had their own stage plays and whatever so they've gone past the point of being just a song), but most of them she won't remember at all, and the ones she vaguely remembers, she'll mess up the melody and lyrics if she ever tries to sing them.
